Solar power systems are entitled to a number of small-scale technology certificates (STCs) if the system is eligible. This is based on the amount of electricity in megawatt hours (MWh) the system generates over the course of its lifetime. In addition, your system may be eligible for Solar Credits, which multiplies the number of STCs the system can receive.
Sanden heatpump hot water systems also generate STCs, the tank size will determine the number of STCs created.
When you purchase a solar system from MODE, you can choose to assign your STCs to us in exchange for a reduced price. This is figured out based on the number of STCs your system is expected to generate and the current market price for those STCs. This helps to make the rebate process simple and efficient.
A feed-in tariff pays you for electricity you generate and feed into the main grid by your small-scale solar panel, wind or hydro system. Currently the feed-in tariff is 6cents per kWh.
Currently STCs are trading at $38 per STC. This value could change at any time without notice.
